What could be cooler than spending your morning with full run of an iconic music venue, in Miami none the less?

Kris, who is the master of all things booking at The Fillmore Miami gave us a shout with his save-the-date plan in mind, and we were hooked! Swanky gold balloons, the Steinway piano, red velvet seats, and total control of the stage lights made this a seriously dreamy production, not to mention it felt so cool photographing on the stage that some of my favorite bands have played on. Seriously, it was a dream. Congrats Kris & Jordan, you guys rule!

santa monica mountains Session | Anniversary shoot | Kimmi + Chad

If any of you guys have followed our blog for the past few years or so, you might recognize these two. Kimmi & Chad have now officially graced my camera lens more times than any other couple of mine. One thing I remember well from there wedding was how welcome and at home they made me and my team feel. Kimmi told me at their reception that we would do an anniversary session the following year…and, every year since we have:-). Every-time I get to shoot these guys we have a ball. Mostly because Kimmi dreams up some of the best shoot locations known to man. This year we shot in my new home town. From the mountains of Santa Monica to the cliffs of the PCH. There were so many photos, I had to restrain my self. Occasionally you will see Joy pop into a frame or two. Joy is Kimmi’s life long best bud and my new neighbor in the LA area. Anyhow, I talked a lot… Now go look at some pictures.

Theres something about that California sunset that you can’t replicate anywhere else. The quality of light is indescribable. Krizel & Zach introduced me to one of my new favorite spots, the Trump National Golf Club. I cant be sure, but I think its a lesser known hidden gem in the San Pedro area since there weren’t that many people there. Its not so much the golf club thats amazing but what’s below the course along the cliffs and beaches. I think this scene truly captures what it means to be in love with the Cali coast ( and each other . Krizel and Zach are getting married early next year at the famous wayfarers chapel and I can’t wait.

Historic Ellicott City Engagement | Carol + Greg

Early mornings in Old Ellicott City are pretty magical. Carol, Greg, and I explored down some quiet old streets off the main street, climbed down to the river, and checked out all the historic charm. Carol & Greg are UMD students who will be married up in PA, and it was a total blast getting to wander around one of my favorite tiny towns with them. Congrats Carol & Greg! -Lexi

The Cromwell Valley Park is one of those places that is always changing. It never looks the same. You could go there one day, and the next it’s different. Plants have grown, the colors have changed, a new path was cut. When Amy told me her plans for a Bohemian styled engagement shoot, I knew this was the spot for them. It for sure felt perfect and Amy, Tony, & I got some good adventuring in between the park and the Reservoir.

As a photographer New York City is one of those magical city’s you never get tired of visiting and shooting in. Every corner is just as beautiful as the next and there are little hidden photographic gems everywhere you look. Yan and Micheal will be married next year in China and wanted to have engagement photo’s in the two locations they lived. In the spring we first shot in Washington, DC. and now in New York. Congrats you two!

You know the kind of people who just make you laugh the entire time they’re around? Vanessa & Chelsea are those kind of people. They’re just the happiest. Ian & I shot their super secret surprise engagement last winter, and I’m so glad I was able to capture their elopement at the Georgetown Waterfront. With a dreamy sunset, and their closest friends, the two were married right in the little park. It ruled Congrats again Vanessa & Chelsea!

Patterson Park Engagement Session | Lauren + Elliot Engaged

Patterson Park is East Baltimore’s version of Central Park. It always blows my mind that there is a place with grass and trees, ponds, and a pagoda, all in the heart of such a busy urban spot. Lauren + Elliot came down from good ole Boston, back to their old home, to take their engagement photos. They’ll be married at The Evergreen next summer, and I love how much they love Baltimore. Since they were back in town, their friends and I were in cahoots to plan an epic photobomb during their session. It ruled. Lauren + Elliot totally didn’t even notice what was happening until their pals were right behind them. We couldn’t stop laughing. After that, we were fortunate to have a totally awesome sunset. I’d say it was a perfect day.

Baltimore Harbor Engagement | Bridget + Brad Engaged

Sunrise engagement sessions are the bomb for two reasons: Number 1, the sun is at it’s dreamiest. Everything is warm and peachy. Number 2, there’s nobody around.

Bridget, Brad & I had the run of Federal Hill and the whole Baltimore Harbor for a good part of the morning. It was wild to be almost completely alone in such a touristy part of the city. That is…until Bridget and Brad had to change into their Save The Date t-shirts. No bathrooms were open, so they changed behind a building and accidentally in-front of a morning yoga class. We were cracking up the whole rest of the morning. It’s always an adventure

Federal Hill Baltimore Surprise Engagement | Joy + David Engaged

So here’s the thing. Your reaction to your proposal is one of the most priceless, once in a lifetime moments, that is totally worth documenting. I met up with David over coffee one afternoon, and we plotted a top secret plan to capture Joy’s reaction to his proposal. It would be tricky to get all the logistics down, but this undercover mission would be so worth it. After a handful of emails, diagrams, and plotting, we had our plan. My husband and I were having a “picnic” on Federal Hill when David and Joy sat down near us. I casually pretended to be touristy and photograph him, while really shooting over his shoulder and getting Joy & David, who were doing a symbolic foot washing. A tour group and some cyclists went by, and when they passed, David came up with a ring box in hand. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Congrats you two! Fort Lauderdale Beach Bride & Groom | Anniversary shoot | Jess + Brandon

I met Jess & Brandon at one of my all time favorite weddings in St. Lucia a couple years ago (Kimmi & Chad). It was one of those really small intimate destination weddings where you actually get to talk to everyone so of course I fell in love with all of their friends. I was honored when Jess called me asking for us to do a sunrise anniversary shoot on the beach in their hometown of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I guess she got tired of Kimmi & Chad hogging me all to themselves ha. Anyhow, I loved this shoot. I know you guys will too. Enjoy!

Columbia Maryland engagement photographer | Centennial Park Engagement | Monica + Josh Engaged

Monica & Josh’s engagement session was more than your typical engagement session. The images you see first are of their actual engagement. I arrived to their apartment early evening before Monica got home from work. After looking around their apartment Josh and I devised a plan. We knew there was no way for me to go unnoticed in their little two bedroom so the goal was to get Monica and Josh outside of their apartment without seeming shady to Monica. Our plan was to tell Monica that her cat had dropped its collar off from the balcony onto the grassy area below their apartment- a perfect vantage point from where I could catch the whole thing unnoticed. Shortly after, Josh popped the question, and then the three of us headed over to Centennial Park for a couple quick sunset images. Check it out!

Jen & Andy and I met up on a Sunday morning in Shirlington Village. ( Please read the following in a British accent) I had never heard of it before but it turned out to be one of those hidden gems where you can walk 10 meters and shoot 4 different looks. The Village at Shirlington opened as Shirlington Shopping Center in 1944, and was the first large shopping center to open in the Washington, D.C. suburbs and one of the earliest in the United States. So needless to say it was full of life and character. I loved the colorful walls and the interesting architecture. Plus the dog park that Jen & Andy frequent was only a stones throw across the street. ( end British accent )

Ostertag Vistas Engagement session | Myersville, Maryland engagement |Sarah + Zack Engaged

Sarah & Zack set their big date for June of next year at the amazing Ostertag Vistas. Ostertag is an incredibly historic venue, with its charming 200 year old buildings,19th century German Swiss bank barn, 144-acre farm, rolling hills, farm pond, and streams. Ostertag is such a gorgeous venue-Sarah & Zack decided to have their engagement session there as well. And…we barely scratched the surface. I can’t wait for the wedding guys. Enjoy!
