Dumbarton Oaks is an insanely beautiful garden in DC. It’s a photographers dream. But, you can’t just shoot in there willy-nilly (is that still a thing people say?). So when Ashley & Nick said that they got us all squared away to shoot their engagement photos at Dumbarton, I was so pumped! It’s hard to take a bad shot in that place, especially when your couple is as sweet & genuine as these two. I had the best day with you Ashley & Nick! Can’t wait for your wedding!

Washington DC Cherry Blossom Engagement | Yan & Michael | Best Washington DC Photographer

Every year everyone goes a little crazy for cherry blossom season in Washington, DC. This year especially because of the long winter and abundance of rain/snow. Every tree was abloom with beautiful cherry blossoms and flowers, it was like something out of a fairytale. Yan and Michael will be getting married in China next year and wanted engagement images from the states to have at their wedding. Justin will be doing a round two engagement session with them in New York in a month or so, can’t wait to see what he comes up with. I’m so happy I had the chance to bring these two out and take some awesome photo’s.

Madison | Senior Portraits

I had a ton of fun shooting Madison’s Senior pictures. Mid Session, Madison’s Horse (Blue), decided he didn’t want to give anymore rides and flung Madison off his back, rodeo style. As she laid there starring at the blue sky with the wind knocked out of her, she mustered up the words…. Did you get any pictures? Lol. I literally thought she was dead. She powered through the rest of the session like nothing happened and we got some really awesome shots.

Erin & Ben’s wedding at OSTERTAG VISTA was a perfect example. Complete with cowboy hats & antique plates… this wedding was the farthest thing from stuffy. Congrats Erin & Ben!

Nicole & Rich Married | Hayfields Country Club | Best Maryland photographer

We first met Nicole at Turf Valley country club, where she works as their marketing manager, and totally hit it off. When she asked if we would shoot her wedding, we were so pumped! Everything about Nicole & Rich’s wedding was just was so classic. When we arrived at the Hocks’ house, Nicole’s dad was pacing in the garage practicing his speech. That made our hearts fuzzy. After exchanging vows at the beautiful St Francis Xavier church, Nicole and Rich left in the most gorgeous antique Corvette complete with tin cans pulled behind. The night continued at Hayfields Country Club . There were ice sculptures, family style Italian food, beautiful garlands, and an artist who painted the reception as it happened. When folks weren’t smoking cigars out on the grounds, they were dancing while the band played. Congrats Nicole & Rich! We loved being part of your day.

I’ve known Dani and Tony for some time now. Tony and I go way back to when we were just two teenagers with nothing better to do but go to concerts or hang out at malls. A few years later I met Dani at my second job, where we all worked, and like to think I had something to do with how they met. I was around when they first started dating and have watched them blossom to where they are now. Tony told me he was getting ready to ‘pop the question’ and, (if she said yes, lol), he wanted me to be a part of their journey and be their photographer. I was so siked that she accepted, and now I get to be a part of one of the most amazing and monumental days of their lives. I love any excuse to use my abilities to capture moments – it’s an added bonus when you get to hang out with friends while doing what you love. Congrats you two, can’t wait for your wedding!

Tony and Courtney are genuinely sweet. They aren’t afraid to act like goofballs either. We knew we were in for a solidly fun wedding day when Courtney and her bridesmaids were jumping on the bed in full wedding garb. We were right. Their venue, The Eden Resort offered an outdoor town-front vibe, with all the joys of climate control (yeah! A/C!) It made for a classically cool day that we were so happy to document! I first shot Grey & Peter’s official wedding last fall, knowing I would be shooting their wedding celebration the following spring with all their family and friends. The day started off awesome, how could it not when you are at a house over looking the Bay, surrounded by nature and trees? Then I saw Peter and Grey, both smiling and ready to celebrate their day, and it made it even more special. Their love for each other is evident, just by seeing them interact with one another. They have been together for a long time, but their love is still that of “two teenagers in love”. At the end of the night Grey came out dressed as a rockstar and had a monologue to different Kiss songs that went along with the first time he met Peter, It was the perfect ending to the night. Congratulations to Peter & Grey once again!

Jessica & Chaz | Married | Key West, FL | Marriott Beachside, Photographer

We got the chance to travel to the Florida Keys for Jessica and Chaz’s beautiful wedding at the Marriott Beachside in Key West. Knowing the weather in Florida in November and how unpredictable it can be, everyone was crossing their fingers for beautiful weather – and we got it! From the moment we arrived at the hotel where both Jessica and Chaz were preparing for the evening with their friends and family we knew this was going to be a fun wedding. The girls were in their kimonos sipping on champagne and the fellas were in their room enjoying cigars and music. Everyone was smiling, laughing, and just extending their love to the bride and groom the entire night. Let me just say that they are extremely loved! The speeches by the bridal party were so heartfelt and warm that it was hard to get ourselves out of the moment and shoot what was going on because we just wanted to hear what kind words would be said next. As soon as the music turned on, it was a dance party! It was an action packed kind of reception – I think we may have even been pulled out onto the dance floor to join them at one point. We are wishing Jessica and Chaz a lifetime of happiness and health! Congratulations you two!
