Kelley & Greg threw the ultimate celebration on July 4th this year. Their elegant black-tie wedding was nothing short of spectacular, complete with flying sparks and all. So here’s the thing. Your reaction to your proposal is one of the most priceless, once in a lifetime moments, that is totally worth documenting. I met up with David over coffee one afternoon, and we plotted a top secret plan to capture Joy’s reaction to his proposal. It would be tricky to get all the logistics down, but this undercover mission would be so worth it. After a handful of emails, diagrams, and plotting, we had our plan. My husband and I were having a “picnic” on Federal Hill when David and Joy sat down near us. I casually pretended to be touristy and photograph him, while really shooting over his shoulder and getting Joy & David, who were doing a symbolic foot washing. A tour group and some cyclists went by, and when they passed, David came up with a ring box in hand. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Congrats you two! We’ve been looking forward to Jen & Tim’s wedding since their engagement session last year, and man, their big day did not disappoint Their venue, Antrim 1844, is a classic estate with historic charm, which we love. From the bright wallpaper in Tim’s “getting ready” suite, to the perfectly landscaped gardens, there were so many great places to shoot. Jen & Tim’s wedding was compete with an awesome sunset, some of the coolest wedding favors we’ve ever seen, and one heck of a dance party. Congrats you two!

Jess & Brodie were married at one of my all time favorite wedding venues (at my recommendation actually)– The Mathwig Event Barn. I always feel at home whenever I get a chance to photograph here, but even more so when I get to hang out with my past couples who are good friends with Jess & Brodie. (Theresa & Mike, Keren & Derek). Jess & Brodie were such a chill couple to work with, the kind of people who seem like you have known them for years. This wedding was bittersweet however since it was the second to last we will ever get to shoot at Mathwig. Sadly, they are closing their doors at the end of this year. But we enjoyed the party while it lasted! Anyhow take a look at these two – you wont regret it.

Christy, Jessie and I had never met before the morning of their engagement shoot (besides Skype), but after about 10 minutes we were like old pals. Christy and Jessie both live in South Carolina but their wedding will be right here in Christy’s home town of Pasadena. We couldn’t have asked for a better day for a beautiful hang in downtown Annapolis.

Mona and Jared said “I do” at their spring wedding at the Cylburn Arboretum in Baltimore, Maryland, complete with fresh blossoms, a rustic stone mansion, and of course…the party of the year for their friends and family. The field of daffodils, live music, and clear starry sky at the end of the night really made for a picturesque day to celebrate the start of their new lives together. Savage Mill just doesn’t disappoint. No matter how many times I photograph couples here, there is always a new angle that I haven’t tried before. Sometimes couples can start off their session a little rocky and nervous, which is normal; however, that wasn’t the case with Carli and Brian. They were so natural together. It was very refreshing.

It couldn’t have been a better ending to a great year. Olivia & Kyle were our last wedding of 2014. It seemed like the stars just aligned and everything went in their favor. The weather was sunny and mild which can be hit or miss in Maryland that time of year. After a beautiful Mass at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Olney they concluded their party at the Inn at Brookville Farms. I personally love winter weddings. I think it forces you to get creative in a colder climate. Congrats you guys !
