I’ve known the beautiful bride since we were young. A group of us would spend our summers at the neighborhood swimming pool as kids. Oh man, I miss those days. It was awesome to reconnect with old friends and be a part of Colleen and Dan’s wedding in such a meaningful way. Their wedding was at the Seabrook Island Beach Club. The streets that head to the entrance of the Club are lined with Angel Oak trees with Spanish moss hanging from their branches-definitely a sight to remember. With perfect weather and an awesome bridal party the wedding went off with out a hitch. I will say, everyone at this party danced their heads off. :) Congratulations Colleen & Dan!

P.S. On our way out, a baby alligator ran across the street :) I’ve never seen a baby alligator in the wild!

In Maryland you never know what kind of weather you are going to have… one day it could be 60… the next… 28 and freezing rain. Ha! But autumn continues to be one of the best times of the year. There is just something so natural about mixing a family portrait session with the perfection of the fall colors. The Park’s fit in so organically and looked great while doing it. I’m not sure how they managed to have four perfect children…great job guys! Thanks again for having me shoot your family pics. :)

Tony and Courtney are genuinely sweet. They aren’t afraid to act like goofballs either. We knew we were in for a solidly fun wedding day when Courtney and her bridesmaids were jumping on the bed in full wedding garb. We were right. Their venue, The Eden Resort offered an outdoor town-front vibe, with all the joys of climate control (yeah! A/C!) It made for a classically cool day that we were so happy to document! Congratulations to Courtney & Tony!

Sara & Rob | Engaged | Ellicott City, MD Photographer

Temperatures were barely above freezing, but that was no match for all the love and warmth at Sara and Rob’s engagement session! The shoot was scheduled for the week before, but Maryland gave us a few frigid 6 degree days. After bumping the session to a (slightly) warmer day, we headed out to get some great shots! I don’t think any amount of weather could keep Sara & Rob from having a great time together!

Sara & Rob were just like old pals, joking back and forth as we walked around the city. Everywhere we went, the lighting was perfect for photos! The pair warmed up with delicious coffees in Bean Hollow while we captured more moments. These two could be anywhere in the world, and they would still be comfortable! Ahh, Love!

Laura & Billy | Married | Baltimore, MD Photographer

This wedding was a “ball” to shoot. First of all, Laura and Billy are an awesome couple and having met Billy’s sister, Karen, 2 years prior gave us a little more of a connection to start with. At Karen’s wedding friends and family loved having a good time, so I could only anticipate what this one would be like. The wedding took place at Holy Rosary Church and reception in Baltimore at the 1840′s Ballroom on the 4th floor which was really cool because the ballroom consists of 4 uniquely styled and themed floors.

Nothing was more important than the good time being photographed well, and honestly, they were some of the nicest people I’ve met. Actually, funny story: I was dying of thirst by the time I reached the reception hall, and I asked Billy if there was water in this giant cooler they had sitting there, his response, “There’s no water, but you can have a beer!” And the “one beer requirement” my friends, lead to some terrible acid reflux the rest of the night!

Regardless, everything went perfectly, it was a great wedding, and everyone was happy.

What’s better then two fun gals that love their horses. Nikki contacted me a while back and told me she wanted three things, 1) To take pictures with her horse. 2) Take them with her friend, Zoe and 3) Have all the pretty fall colors. Usually on a beautiful Saturday in Georgetown, everyone would be out shopping and eating on the main strip. And on July 6th, this was the case for sure….however, just a few minutes away, Megan and David were surrounded by all their family and friends creating the memory of a lifetime. We joined this big Italian Wedding first at the Key Bridge Marriott in DC right across the bridge from Georgetown. Being on one of the top floors made for a gorgeous view and backdrop behind them as everyone got prepped and then later during the reception as well. In-between, the bride and groom shared their vows at the Cathedral of Saint Matthew the Apostle- one of the most decorated, antique, and majestic-looking churches we have seen. Nicole + Steven | Married | 4.26.13 | Pasadena Maryland Photographer

Nicole and I met all the way back around our high school days. We (Nicole, Ian, and I) attended the same church for a while. So it was of course exciting when I got the call to meet about her and Steven’s Big day. We usually become friends with all of our brides and grooms throughout the whole wedding process anyway, so its always a bonus and makes the whole experience extra fun when we already know each other. Nicole & Steven were married at the Anchor Inn, which is in Pasadena, Maryland. The quaint little venue sits on the water overlooking little docks and lots of boats. Very pretty for a spring time wedding in MD. Congrats you guys!

I met these two at Liz & Andy’s wedding last summer (Liz is Buddy’s older sister). Danielle and I actually got to enjoy Sunday dinner with their whole family a few weeks ago; Buddy and Liz’s mom was so nice to invite us over before we did the engagement shoot. It was great getting to know the whole family! After dinner, Jennifer and Buddy pulled on their cowboy boots and led us behind the house down a trail into a beautiful, rustic, country-esque park. I felt like we were in western Maryland or something for a moment; I kept forgetting we were in Elkridge, only 20 minutes away from where I live. The place was picture perfect and of course Buddy and Jennifer were right at home practically in their own backyard

I first met Taylor when I photographed Liz & Andy’s wedding last summer. Her family actually owns the Mathwig Estate Event Barn, which is quickly becoming the most popular off the grid wedding venue in Maryland. We were excited to be a part of their first wedding show there a couple months ago; Taylor did a great job hosting it of course! And then I made the long drive back to Thurmont (where the Barn is located) for Taylor and Brandon’s engagement session…which has become one of my favorite shoots recently. Everything was so inspiring – the location, the perfect lighting, and of course Taylor and Brandon My wife ended up texting me asking where I was since I had been there for so long lol oops! Anyways…here’s what we were doing for so long….

Even though the club went out of business a couple years ago, we found no shortage of great spots in and around Power Plant Live. True love is hard to find, but when you do, it lights up the room. Say hello to Feis & Jason. I first met this charming couple last year for their engagement session, which by the way was at 5:30am on the beach. The wind was blowing and my mind was just starting to boot up. :) Everything was perfect- the weather, the clouds, the sunrise…so picturesque. As we went through their session we talked about the first time the two of them met; it blew my mind. Here’s about how it went: Jason meets stunning girl (Feis) who only speaks Spanish. Jason doesn’t really speak Spanish. They go on their first date, can’t talk to each other, but have the best time. Jason spends the next year learning and becoming fluent in Spanish. All for the woman that would soon be his wife. If that’s not commitment, I don’t know what is. Then came time for their wedding. Everything was so chic and elegant topped off with the ultimate party of their lives. The connection you see between them is truly magical. Congratulations guys!

Nicole + Josh | Married | 3.30.13 | Doylestown Pennsylvania wedding photographer

We met Nicole and Josh through our friends Corrine & Ryan, who were our last wedding couple of 2012… And, Nicole and Josh were our first Maryland wedding of 2013 It was great getting to know them a little at Corrine and Ryan’s wedding before we even had our engagement session together. Their wedding was held at the Aldie Mansion in the quaint town of Doyestown Pennsylvania, where Nicoles family is from. I loved the overall feel of their wedding . Very relaxed and chill within the gorgeous backdrop of the ancient stone mansion with rich woodwork and an overall rustic atmosphere. One of the reasons they actually decided to have the wedding in Pennsylvania was so that Nicole’s grandmother could attend. It was an incredible moment to see her face light up when she saw Nicole in her wedding dress for the first time.
