I met Jess & Brandon at one of my all time favorite weddings in St. Lucia a couple years ago (Kimmi & Chad). It was one of those really small intimate destination weddings where you actually get to talk to everyone so of course I fell in love with all of their friends. I was honored when Jess called me asking for us to do a sunrise anniversary shoot on the beach in their hometown of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I guess she got tired of Kimmi & Chad hogging me all to themselves ha. Anyhow, I loved this shoot. I know you guys will too. Enjoy!

Georgetown University Wedding | Best Washington DC photographer | Julia + Jonathan Married

Julia & Jon’s wedding was held at Julia’s Alma mater, Georgetown University, in the beautiful Dahlgren Chapel. Everyone who knows the area can tell you that if you are going to get married in DC in the Spring, you should definitely take advantage of the blossoms. This day wouldn’t have been complete without them! Julia and Jon’s First Look was steps away from the Chapel and right under a bunch of cherry blossoms in a courtyard. Georgetown’s campus is actually incredibility beautiful–Most of our portrait time was spent within a 100 yard radius on campus. Then, after an amazing lunch over at the Sequoia Restaurant right on the Georgetown waterfront, complete with a very sentimental toast from Julia’s Dad, the rest of their lives together had begun! First stop…Rome! Have fun on your honeymoon guys!

Erin & I were old high school buddies so of course I was honored when she asked me to photograph her wedding later this year. I actually photographed Erin back in high school for a AP studio art project using film. So it was pretty cool that the day I shot her engagement session with Auggie was also the first time I’ve used film in over 9 years. Not all of them made the cut of course, I did say this was my first time in over 9 years The square frames were shot on a Yashica from the mid 50′s . The rest are all products of Nikon’s current powerhouse- the D4s. Erin & Aug live in one of the most beautiful parts of Virginia, near Luray caverns. Well… see for your self

Meghan & Nick picked one of the more daring months to have an outdoor wedding in the Northeast (MD,PA,VA,DC). The draw of the fall colors are hard to ignore but it does come with the chance of cold temperatures and fall rains. Personally I love the looming ominous clouds- makes for a wonderful contrasty image. Lucky for them , or rather good planning on their part, the Lodges where they were married ( The Lodges at Gettysburg) had a great indoor backup plan for weather emergencies. I loved the great wooden beams across the ceilings and the large open windows. Anyhow check it out! Congrats again guys, we were honored to photograph your day. :-)

Every once in a while our clients go above and beyond to make us feel like family at their wedding. Jason and Jheydee are one of those couples. From mentioning us on their program to accommodating us in every way, we were unexpectedly flattered. Surrounded by family and friends, they tied the knot under the pergola at the always beautiful Turf Valley Country Club. Timing couldn’t have been better either; it poured seconds after we finished their family portraits on the alter! :-)

Jen, Tim and I spent the afternoon exploring Historic Sykesville. Such a quaint little area complete with one of the last remaining telephone booths in the area. :-) I really enjoyed hanging out with you guys, especially watching Tim struggle with your super energetic pup. Although Michelle & TJ live here in Maryland, their wedding was held in Michelle’s hometown of New Philadelphia, Ohio. I really enjoyed the hometown feel of this whole wedding. I have also never seen so many friends and family travel so far for a wedding before. It just really speaks to how amazing Michelle and TJ are. There were so many genuine moments that made the day beautiful like when TJ sang to Michelle or when the pastor (who also officiated my own wedding!) pulled out an iPad to immediately Instagram their first kiss…ever.
