I met Jess & Brandon at one of my all time favorite weddings in St. Lucia a couple years ago (Kimmi & Chad). It was one of those really small intimate destination weddings where you actually get to talk to everyone so of course I fell in love with all of their friends. I was honored when Jess called me asking for us to do a sunrise anniversary shoot on the beach in their hometown of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I guess she got tired of Kimmi & Chad hogging me all to themselves ha. Anyhow, I loved this shoot. I know you guys will too. Enjoy!

We’ve been looking forward to Jen & Tim’s wedding since their engagement session last year, and man, their big day did not disappoint Their venue, Antrim 1844, is a classic estate with historic charm, which we love. From the bright wallpaper in Tim’s “getting ready” suite, to the perfectly landscaped gardens, there were so many great places to shoot. Jen & Tim’s wedding was compete with an awesome sunset, some of the coolest wedding favors we’ve ever seen, and one heck of a dance party. Congrats you two!

Jess & Brodie were married at one of my all time favorite wedding venues (at my recommendation actually)– The Mathwig Event Barn. I always feel at home whenever I get a chance to photograph here, but even more so when I get to hang out with my past couples who are good friends with Jess & Brodie. (Theresa & Mike, Keren & Derek). Jess & Brodie were such a chill couple to work with, the kind of people who seem like you have known them for years. This wedding was bittersweet however since it was the second to last we will ever get to shoot at Mathwig. Sadly, they are closing their doors at the end of this year. But we enjoyed the party while it lasted! Anyhow take a look at these two – you wont regret it.

Not everyone is as brave as Lisa and Jon to have their engagement session the day after a fresh snow fall in the city. Everyone knows the longer the snow lingers in the city the grosser it gets I honestly was so happy we ventured out though. Our feet were for sure soaked and frozen at the end but standing out on a pier in the harbor this time of year in baltimore can look other worldly. Anyhow I had a great time with these two and we barely walked a square block. Check it out!

You might recognize Alex and Brian if you have followed our blog for the past couple years. I first met Alex as a bridesmaid for one of my favorite couples of all time, Erika & Tim (who btw are now expecting their first baby! Congrats guys, cant wait to photograph your little nugget) Anyways can you believe it poured rain most of the day for Alex & Brian! But I told Alex ahead of time, it’s all about attitude, IF it rains it rains. We will have an awesome time regardless of the weather. I loved the dreary overcast dark stormy skies-made their colors pop and didn’t dampen their spirits one bit. There first look is probably one of my favorites to date. Congrats guys, the C&I crew and I loved photographing your wedding.

Nicole & Rich Married | Hayfields Country Club | Best Maryland photographer

We first met Nicole at Turf Valley country club, where she works as their marketing manager, and totally hit it off. When she asked if we would shoot her wedding, we were so pumped! Everything about Nicole & Rich’s wedding was just was so classic. When we arrived at the Hocks’ house, Nicole’s dad was pacing in the garage practicing his speech. That made our hearts fuzzy. After exchanging vows at the beautiful St Francis Xavier church, Nicole and Rich left in the most gorgeous antique Corvette complete with tin cans pulled behind. The night continued at Hayfields Country Club . There were ice sculptures, family style Italian food, beautiful garlands, and an artist who painted the reception as it happened. When folks weren’t smoking cigars out on the grounds, they were dancing while the band played. Congrats Nicole & Rich! We loved being part of your day.

Olvia & Kyle met in college at the university of Maryland. So, it was only natural and nostalgic to shoot their engagement session on campus. We even had full reign of the Comcast center

Interesting fact. Did you know there were originally no paved walkways through the mall on UMD’s campus? What they did was wait for students to naturally wear tracks in the grass to see where people were organically walking before paving the walkways

Tony and Courtney are genuinely sweet. They aren’t afraid to act like goofballs either. We knew we were in for a solidly fun wedding day when Courtney and her bridesmaids were jumping on the bed in full wedding garb. We were right. Their venue, The Eden Resort offered an outdoor town-front vibe, with all the joys of climate control (yeah! A/C!) It made for a classically cool day that we were so happy to document! Every year D.C. comes alive with trees full of cherry blossoms. While Rikki & Ryan planned their wedding day around cherry blossom season, the cold weather almost kept them from blooming. Luckily on the day of their wedding we had a few staple trees full of blossoms. It made for some incredible pictures. I will say, this was one of the most fun weddings I’ve photographed, everyone was so happy and excited – even had one of the couples take some of our photo booth props onto the dance floor, check it out below ;). The venue was incredible, everything went perfect! :) Congratulations guys!

Megan & Jay only recently moved to Baltimore city but they fit right in already from what I could see on this cold wintery afternoon. The light snow fall added a romantic magical touch rather than the heaps of snow that fell just a few days prior. I always love a couple who is adventurous enough to go out in a little weather. You brave few end up with unique and beautiful imagery We started off going for a stroll in Ft McHenry, apparently the coldest place in the city because of the fact that its sticking way out into the harbor. Then we thought we would find the second coldest place in the city– Locust Point near the Under Armor headquarters. They grabbed a couple drinks in Miguel’s Cocina y Cantina and then we called it a day!

We got the chance to travel to the Florida Keys for Jessica and Chaz’s beautiful wedding at the Marriott Beachside in Key West. Knowing the weather in Florida in November and how unpredictable it can be, everyone was crossing their fingers for beautiful weather – and we got it! From the moment we arrived at the hotel where both Jessica and Chaz were preparing for the evening with their friends and family we knew this was going to be a fun wedding. The girls were in their kimonos sipping on champagne and the fellas were in their room enjoying cigars and music. Everyone was smiling, laughing, and just extending their love to the bride and groom the entire night. Let me just say that they are extremely loved! The speeches by the bridal party were so heartfelt and warm that it was hard to get ourselves out of the moment and shoot what was going on because we just wanted to hear what kind words would be said next. As soon as the music turned on, it was a dance party! It was an action packed kind of reception – I think we may have even been pulled out onto the dance floor to join them at one point. We are wishing Jessica and Chaz a lifetime of happiness and health! Congratulations you two!

Keren + Derek | Engaged | Winter engagement | Downtown Annapolis maryland photographer

There’s something special about a photo in the snow. It’s just so magical looking. We were lucky enough to get a little snow this cold December morning when Keren, Derek, and I ventured out into downtown Annapolis. Living less than 10 min from the water and being one of their favorite spots, we couldn’t think of a place better suited to capture their engagement session. I first met Keren and Derek at Mel & Harry’s wedding a couple months back. Derek was Harry’s best man. This being my third time getting to hang with them, we had a great time just walking (OK mostly driving with the heat turned on full blast) around downtown finding little places to duck out and take photos here and there. One of my favorite scenes being them against a blue building right when the snow began to fall a little heavier. Ok, that and the picture of them with Santa and Mrs. Clause

Erin + Will | Married | 11.02.13 | Turf Valley Country Club | Ellicott City wedding photographer

Erin & Will, high school sweethearts from Howard High School in Ellicott City, tied the knot this past November at Corpus Christi, a traditional Catholic church in Downtown Baltimore and then continued the party at one of our favorite venues, the Turf Valley Country Club. After high school, they followed each other to the University of Maryland. So naturally, they incorporated some Maryland colors in their wedding- red, yellow, and black, which blended well with the autumn colors, and even gave out custom crab hammers as favors ;-). Turf Valley in the fall is totally different from Turf Valley in the summer or spring- the fall foliage gives it a whole new look. This was one of our last weddings of 2013; you will see a few more to come before we start again in this new year. Ejoy!

Sitting down with Jason and JheyDee in their modern apartment building in downtown DC, I instantly knew that they were city boys. However, living in the city they opted for a little more of a country feel for their wedding, which will be at the fabulous Turf Valley Country Club in Howard County. Preferring not to abandon DC all together, they went for a more urban setting for their engagement session. I absolutely love shooting in Georgetown because of all the hidden treasures you find. I have shot in these streets countless times and my images are always different. One pleasant surprise on this particular day was the random 70 degree weather we had in the middle of November. We even got a chance to finish up our session on the famous “Exorcist stairs,” which was new for me having never seen them in person. Anyhow Jason & JheyDee are two of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet and so full of personality. See for yourself
