I’ve known Colleen since we were just young kids with nothing to do but spend the summer days at the neighborhood swimming pool. Hanging out, playing sharks and minnows in the deep end of the pool and eating junk food from the snack bar. Wow, thinking back… I used to think I was so busy as a kid. My daily routine pretty much consisted of, wake up around 10am… and then go hang out at the swimming pool. Ha! Anyhow, When Colleen messaged me and said she was engaged… I got all nostalgic for a minute. I’m so happy I was able to shoot her engagement photo’s! Nothing better than seeing your childhood friends live, love and prosper. Ha, there’s my sentimental moment for the month.

Tony and Courtney are genuinely sweet. They aren’t afraid to act like goofballs either. We knew we were in for a solidly fun wedding day when Courtney and her bridesmaids were jumping on the bed in full wedding garb. We were right. Their venue, The Eden Resort offered an outdoor town-front vibe, with all the joys of climate control (yeah! A/C!) It made for a classically cool day that we were so happy to document! Congratulations to Courtney & Tony!

I feel like its every mans dream to someday retire with a boat and/or cabin on the water. There is something so peaceful about the water, it really has a way of making all your stress disappear. While thinking about locations, Marian’s two requests were to include the boat before it sailed off for the summer to ocean city, and the water. We landed at where the boat is docked for the winter at the Bay Bridge Marina. You can never go wrong with a great couple and a sunset that’s as fiery red as their love for each other. Yes, I just said that. Congratulations guys, can’t wait for your wedding!

There is something about baseball that makes you feel right at home. Going to the games are a added bonus. Jacqui & Eric are like two pea’s in a pod, both with huge love for baseball and the city. From what I could tell, they’re both rather daring as well. Not satisfied with the outside gates of the stadium, we decided to be rebels and get a couple pics inside. From what I remember… the gate was open, and we just walked in. Can’t wait for your wedding guys, I know it’s going to be incredible!

Every year D.C. comes alive with trees full of cherry blossoms. While Rikki & Ryan planned their wedding day around cherry blossom season, the cold weather almost kept them from blooming. Luckily on the day of their wedding we had a few staple trees full of blossoms. It made for some incredible pictures. I will say, this was one of the most fun weddings I’ve photographed, everyone was so happy and excited – even had one of the couples take some of our photo booth props onto the dance floor, check it out below ;). The venue was incredible, everything went perfect! Congratulations guys!

Nicole and I met all the way back around our high school days. We (Nicole, Ian, and I) attended the same church for a while. So it was of course exciting when I got the call to meet about her and Steven’s Big day. We usually become friends with all of our brides and grooms throughout the whole wedding process anyway, so its always a bonus and makes the whole experience extra fun when we already know each other. Nicole & Steven were married at the Anchor Inn, which is in Pasadena, Maryland. The quaint little venue sits on the water overlooking little docks and lots of boats. Very pretty for a spring time wedding in MD. Congrats you guys!

I first met Taylor when I photographed Liz & Andy’s wedding last summer. Her family actually owns the Mathwig Estate Event Barn, which is quickly becoming the most popular off the grid wedding venue in Maryland. We were excited to be a part of their first wedding show there a couple months ago; Taylor did a great job hosting it of course! And then I made the long drive back to Thurmont (where the Barn is located) for Taylor and Brandon’s engagement session…which has become one of my favorite shoots recently. Everything was so inspiring – the location, the perfect lighting, and of course Taylor and Brandon My wife ended up texting me asking where I was since I had been there for so long lol oops! Anyways…here’s what we were doing for so long….

True love is hard to find, but when you do, it lights up the room. Say hello to Feis & Jason. I first met this charming couple last year for their engagement session, which by the way was at 5:30am on the beach. The wind was blowing and my mind was just starting to boot up. Everything was perfect- the weather, the clouds, the sunrise…so picturesque. As we went through their session we talked about the first time the two of them met; it blew my mind. Here’s about how it went: Jason meets stunning girl (Feis) who only speaks Spanish. Jason doesn’t really speak Spanish. They go on their first date, can’t talk to each other, but have the best time. Jason spends the next year learning and becoming fluent in Spanish. All for the woman that would soon be his wife. If that’s not commitment, I don’t know what is. Then came time for their wedding. Everything was so chic and elegant topped off with the ultimate party of their lives. The connection you see between them is truly magical. Congratulations guys!

Nicole + Josh | Married | 3.30.13 | Doylestown Pennsylvania wedding photographer

We met Nicole and Josh through our friends Corrine & Ryan, who were our last wedding couple of 2012… And, Nicole and Josh were our first Maryland wedding of 2013 It was great getting to know them a little at Corrine and Ryan’s wedding before we even had our engagement session together. Their wedding was held at the Aldie Mansion in the quaint town of Doyestown Pennsylvania, where Nicoles family is from. I loved the overall feel of their wedding . Very relaxed and chill within the gorgeous backdrop of the ancient stone mansion with rich woodwork and an overall rustic atmosphere. One of the reasons they actually decided to have the wedding in Pennsylvania was so that Nicole’s grandmother could attend. It was an incredible moment to see her face light up when she saw Nicole in her wedding dress for the first time.

There is nothing better then a nice sunny day, spring time breeze and hanging out with two awesome people. Meet Sean & Corrine, both have a love for the countryside. Here at C&I, we really enjoy the country side of Maryland and whenever we get a chance to do an engagement session around old barn’s and long grass, we get all excited. There’s something about the rawness of a big open field, old barn wood and long grass that makes me feel right at home. Corrine re-purposed an old boat just for the pictures. She patched holes, painted it white and made it look beautiful. She was pretty sure her patches would hold but just in case she put her iPhone in a zipped lock bag. Lol. Pretty nifty. I can’t wait for your wedding, I know it’s going to be gorgeous!

Nicole + Steven | Engaged | Fulton Maryland Photographer

Nicole & Steven spent the morning with me hitting up all the classic spots in Fulton, MD. We started off at Sidamo Coffee & Tea in Maple Lawn, not only because its super quaint inside and they make a mean mocha, but mostly because it was 8 am and I needed said mocha in order to function. I always enjoy shooting with old friends, I’ve known Nicole for a while so it was a lot of fun catching up and getting to know Steven a bit. Since I have lived in this area for a while, it was really easy coming up with little spots here and there that I thought would work well for them. One of my favorite series in this shoot is Steven playing the guitar to Nicole in the back of the old truck. I jokingly said “hey, play Crash into me by DMB”, and off he went. That just sealed the deal for me. These two are awesome and I’m looking forward to the wedding!

I think these two are hilarious because Nicole decided they were going to jump off the bench… the only problem is they didn’t discuss how they were doing to do that. lol As you can see she went for the high jump, Steven… did not….

Angie & Costa Engaged | Bel Air Maryland Photographer

I met Angie & Costa this past summer at Beth & Gary’s wedding. As I’ve probably previously mentioned, I am always excited when a couple has their own plan for their engagement shoot. Their idea was to hit up all their regular spots off Main street in Bel Air. We started off in a authentic Italian deli, Savona, where they knew the owner by name, which was great because she was so sweet and gave me the freedom to shoot all over the place. We continued to bounce around a bit through some of their regular stomping grounds- and then you know, had them sit in a fountain (the one right across from a police station of course). The bikes were a cute and, yet again, true touch. They live right down the street so its not uncommon to see these two frequenting their favorite watering hole, Sean and Bolan’s Irish Pub. Angie & Costa, you guys were naturals. I had a lot of fun photographing you. Next stop…the wedding!

Adrienne + Peter | Married 12.01.12 | Washington DC wedding photographer

I had the pleasure of photographing one of my high school buddies, Adrienne We were actually in the same photo class one year. We had the best photo teacher in the world, which opened up the world of photography and started a life-long pasion for me. The funny thing is, Mr. Drew wasn’t even very good at photography, he was just an incredible teacher. To this day, every time I hear the song “Porcelain” by Moby, I remember our class photo critiques. But I digress. Adrienne has always had a unique style so I knew her wedding would definitely be one to remember and beautiful to photograph. Then I found out Peter was a fellow motorcycle rider Anyhow, from their “First Look” on the rooftop of their apartment building in downtown DC, to portraits on the Ural (his Russian motorcycle), the quaint decor and ambiance of St. Anselm’s Abbey, and the unique styling of something vintage rentals at the reception, it certainly was everything I expected and more.
